Do I need a youth hostel card to stay overnight at the youth hostel?

Membership in the Youth Hostel Association is required for overnight stays in youth hostels. The HI (Hostelling International) is a registered association whose services only benefit its members.  Membership must be obtained or applied for when registering on site. It can also be ordered online (http://www.hihostels.com).

No, both are included in the price. The beds are already made.

Where can I park my car nearby?

In the Alt-Sachsenhausen car park at Walter-Kolb-Str. 16 (1,-€ per hour during the day/19-7 hrs 4,-€) or free of charge at Mainwasenweg 31 (approx. 25 minutes walk along the Mainriver).

What can you do in Frankfurt in the evening?

What typical souvenirs can you bring from Frankfurt?

Where's the nearest supermarket? How long is it open?

Where's the nearest doctor, the nearest hospital, the nearest pharmacy?

Since our house is very centrally located, there are various doctors, pharmacies and hospitals in the immediate vicinity and can be reached on foot. Of course we are happy to help you at the reception.

Where are the nearest museums? Are they open every day?

Most of the museums are located near the hostel (about 2 to 15 minutes walk). With the exception of the Senckenbergmuseeum, the Goethehaus and the Experiminta (9-14 o'clock), all museums are closed on Mondays.

Where can I get tourist information?

Information is available from the Tourist Information Office at the main railway station (open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 21:00, Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 18:00) or from the Tourist Information Office at the Römer (open Monday to Friday from 09:30 to 17:30, Saturday and Sunday from 09:30 to 16:00) - Tel. 069 / 21 23 88 00; www.frankfurt-tourismus.de

Where can I drink apple wine? Where are the traditional cider taverns?

Right in the middle of it and with you, that's our youth hostel: right behind the youth hostel, the "Alt-Sachsenhausen" nightlife district begins. Many other typical apple wine taverns are located on Dreieichstraße, Textor- and Schweizer Straße.

Where is Frankfurt best seen from above?

Where is the nearest pedestrian zone / shopping street / shopping centre?

The nearest pedestrian zone is the Zeil, which can be reached on foot in approx. 10 minutes or by bus 36/30 in 5 minutes. The shopping centre "My Zeil" is also located there.
Those who like it more individual and want to shop where the Frankfurters shop will also feel at home on the shopping streets of the city districts. For example the Schweizer Straße in Sachsenhausen (approx. 10 min. on foot), the Berger Straße in Nordend / Bornheim or the Leipziger Straße in Bockenheim. If you are looking for something special, you will also find it in the immediate vicinity of the youth hostel: There are numerous small designer shops on Brücken-/Wallstraße.

Where can I find a bicycle rental? What does a bicycle cost?

There are several bicycle rental systems in Frankfurt. These are, for example, nextbike ( https://www.nextbike.de/de/frankfurt/) and callabike (https://www.callabike-interaktiv.de/en/cities/frankfurt). Bicycles are available from 1 Euro per hour. If you want to rent a bicycle for a longer period of time, you can use the bicycle stations in Frankfurt.   In Sachsenhausen, about 12 minutes' walk, bicycles can be rented in Ernst May Straße: https://www.bajabikes.eu/de/fahrradverleih-frankfurt/ or https://www.frankfurtbiketour.com/de/anfrage-radverleih/

Where is the nearest indoor / outdoor swimming pool?

The nearest indoor swimming pool is 10 minutes away from the youth hostel on Textorstraße, the nearest outdoor swimming pool is the stadium pool at the Frankfurt football stadium.
