Our Mission

Accessibility

Certified by “Travel for All.” All rooms are accessible by elevator, as are nearly all meeting rooms. Eight rooms are available for guests with disabilities. Additionally, accessible restrooms are available in the public areas.

Nonprofit status

We are not a hotel. We are a nonprofit organization, and only members can stay with us. That’s why we require a DJH membership card. But in return, we don’t charge the high rates you’d find at hotels. Community, sustainable experiences, and affordable lodging are our core strengths.

Family-friendly

Staying in hotels with kids —usually not much fun. Staying in hostels with kids — usually more laid-back. Bunk beds present a new challenge. And spilling food in the dining room isn’t such a big deal. A kids’ play area in the common room makes bad weather more bearable.

Accommodations & Rooms

Our Rooms

We offer a wide range of rooms: from single and double rooms with a shower and toilet to 3- to 6-bed rooms with or without a shower and toilet.

Conferences & Seminars

Your conference with us

This morning I was up on the Skyline Deck again with some prospective guests, this space is and always will be a sensation. To the west, the skyline; to the north, the Main River; to the south, the Henninger Tower. It’s inspiring for any kind of event. Truly the diamond among jewels.

Because the other twelve rooms all have their own unique charm as well. With seating ranging from 16 to 375, there is an enormous range of possibilities. From mini-group seminars with a circle of chairs to large-scale events that take over the entire venue.

Catering

An amazing breakfast—it’s not exactly what you’d expect at a youth hostel. We hear that a lot. And yes, we’re proud of our breakfast buffet. Whenever possible, we use organic ingredients. Lunch and dinner are generally hot meals here. Usually with two options, but sometimes just vegetarian. But delicious in any case.

Catering

We offer two affordable packages for conference guests. But you can also just order coffee and water. Or coffee and cake. Or butter pretzels. Or… A wide selection of beverages rounds out our culinary offerings.
