To stay at youth hostels (worldwide), you must be a member of the German Youth Hostel Association (Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk e.V.).
DJH membership is an annual membership in the German Youth Hostel Association (DJH) that grants you access to all of the association’s youth hostels in Germany and to partner facilities worldwide. Since the DJH is a nonprofit organization, only members can use its accommodations and services.
With your contribution, you support the preservation and development of youth hostels, promote educational and recreational programs for children, young people, and families, and contribute to projects in the areas of the environment, inclusion, and cultural exchange.
As a member, you’ll have access to over 2,500 youth hostels around the world. You’ll also enjoy discounted rates with numerous partners, attractive terms for group train travel, and many other perks. You can easily check out all the latest benefits anytime in the DJH app.

Groups
For group stays at youth hostels, not every participant needs to be a member of the DJH.
Corporate membership
Schools, clubs, associations, institutions, and companies (that meet certain requirements) may apply for organizational membership in the DJH. Organizations are admitted as members of the state associations in which the applicant organizations are headquartered. For clubs and associations organized on a national level, the DJH Main Association in Detmold is responsible.

Sign up for membership online
You can apply for membership online. Once your application is complete, you’ll receive a personal membership card—either as a plastic card or digitally via the DJH app—and enjoy discounted rates and special services. Membership dues are also tax-deductible as a donation.
