A Symbol of a New Era – 100 Years of Haus der Jugend e.V.

In 1926, the “Haus der Jugend” association was founded, and it continues to operate the youth hostel in Frankfurt to this day. Originally built on Hansaallee and relocated to Deutschherrnufer after the war, it remains an important meeting place for teenagers and young adults from Frankfurt and around the world, a safe space from which to explore Frankfurt. It’s also a great place to stay and hold meetings for people of all ages.

On this page, we look back and look ahead with you – because, in its uniqueness, this organization and its spaces not only have an exciting history but also radiate promise for the future. As a place that instills confidence and stands for connection, diversity, and democratic coexistence.
